Sunny day here in Indy. I am going to get our tomato plants then DD is going to help DH plant them.
I am glad that those big ugly posts are gone. Maybe some one should have reported them sooner. -
Hmmmmmmmmmmm. It does help to have a a disc in the drive.

Nice sunny day here in Indy. I had promised myself that I would crop pictures today but can't get my image cropping site to open. Seems that it is always something. The techie DD will come by when she has the time to help me with it.

Looks like we’ll have a bright sunny day here in Indy, I am snookered. Probably won’t do much for the rest of the day. I had been gathering stuff for my kids-grandkids to sell at their rummage sale this week end. They picked it up early this morning. I am glad to have that stuff out of the house .
Maybe I’ll get some clothing pics late this afternoon. The area for doing clothing pics is on the west side of the house. -
I dug out my short sleeve shirts and lighter weight pants, too. I am sort of cold natured so when DH starts the AC I may go back.

I just got an invitation from ebay to list 30 day BINS free. If this promotion is open to any of you who have a large batch of unsold listings already prepared this would be a great chance for you to a sample a store type setting. Don't know but suppose one would still get thier 50 free listing along wth the 30 day BINS.
There is a long time seller who has had a store from the early day of ebay stores who says that one needs a lot of listings--- I think she says 200 or more--- to do well with a store. I am not overjoyed with it but I am pleased with my store. -

Good evening Joolie Friends, I check in every day and sometimes 3-4 times a day. I find these boards give such a nice break from the boredom of researching and writing listings. I am so glad that we have the boards and that some of you drop around now and then . I've been trying to get all of my cooking and dining items listed . Hoping that the holiday shoppers will be looking for just what I have to offer.
@pawdee98 Leon, Jeminy you and yours are sure having your share of troubles. Hope MsP's eye treatment goes well.
@leforme44 That surely is a beautiful piece but unsigned pieces are always a mystery to me. -

Hmmmmm. I wonder if the owner // managers think there is too much 'uncertainty' about future cookie sales. A local and quite liberal columnist was saying that 'uncertainty' is the reason that job creators are sitting on record profits and bemoaning a weak economy and so are afraid to invest and hire---- at this time. My sweet tooth is hurting. I think I'll go buy some cookies.

Thought anybody who popped in here might get a chuckle from my recent experience.
Will share my yesterday with y’all.
My day improved as time moved it along. We had a beautiful sunny day and I needed to take pictures. Had been somewhat out of sorts as I had spent about 2 hours taking pictures on Wednesday. When I sat down at the computer to crop the pics I laid my SanDisk down for a second right here near the printer. Then could not find it . Thought maybe it fell of the front of my desk so I got a light and got down on the floor. Then got the vacuum out to clean while I was down there. But no SanDisk to be found. A new $12.50 disc and 2 hours work gone, gone , gone. Really 3 hours as I spent nearly an hour looking for it.
My household helper dropped by late this afternoon. She walked over to the computer pulled out the drawer underneath the computer and picked up the disk.
Is that an improved day or what? -

Seems with the economy being what it is the company could hire more people . But I suppose with the fringe benefits they would have to pay the additional employees it is more economical to put the work load on the current employees. Maddening isn't it?
Have never known what this company makes or does. Would you care to share that information? -

@beetique Don't know anything about your work situation but with today's economy being what it is it does seem that the employees might be quite concerned about loss of pay while out on strike. Or do they get 'strike pay'? Even if they do I suppose that it would be full pay.

I've noted for a long time now that most companies do not want to retain employees who have worked themselves up past the minimum wage payments. Same with regular staffed employees. -

Today's mail brings a request for best price on an Anne Klein necklace. I revised the listing so the prospective buyer could make an offer. The offer is 1/2 my asking price. Think I'll let it set until tomorrow morning then counter with 5 to 10% off. Or I could just send my NUHFO ( Not Until Hell Freezes Over) response.

I sold several of my school uniforms to the same buyer. She was supposed to pay the middle of the week but no payment so far. Anyway she had said there were just so many expenses in getting her DDs settled for the school year.

Jo , I've heard only good reports for results on knee surgery . Glad yours went well.
I had mentioned on the Glass Board that I thought we might fall ownership to a stray cat. One has shown up on our driveway and in the garage when the door was open. I had ask and received some information about determining the sex .
Was thinking , too, of a joke I heard many moons ago about identifying puppy sex.
The little boy came home from the neighbors all excited about the family of new puppies. He said there were 3 boys puppies and 2 girl puppies. His mother ask how they knew that there were 3 boys and 2 girls. After thinking for a second he said ” Well they held them up——- I think they are marked under there.”Thought y'all might get a chuckle.

I've been inside a thrift store only once since mid March. Found what I was looking for and one other item. Then I popped out of there. Actually what I found was a beautiful English brass bucket from the 1950s. I recognized it because Mary Kay Ash of Mary Kay make up Products was giving them away as hostess gifts for an in home party plan company which she started after she left Stanley Home Products because they passed her over in favor of a man whom she had trained.
I was a rep for awhile for the new party plan company. We were living in El Paso , Texas. I met Mary Kay several times in my home and in the home of others who were having parties. I recruited a friend for the new company who went back to her home state of Arizona. There she became a manager of that state for Mary Kay. I drew commissions off her sales for several months. -

Good morning Joolies,
Couldn't sleep so got up to try to do some computer chores. Wish I weren't such a technodolt. Many moons ago DH and I took a free computer course for beginners at a local college. I think that neither of us understood any thing the teacher said . But thought he was not a very good teacher either.
Funny little family thing this week . Our 17 year old DGS has been taking lots of computer courses and is quite good at it. In fact he just recently built a new computer for DH. His mother , our DD, works at VA. She got him lined up to do some volunteer work in the VA IT Dept. She sort of had to drag him into doing this.
He came home the first day all aglow. Said he had been reluctant because he thought DD was trying to line him to do bed pans. But he really liked working with the IT people. They were so nice-------not like high school kids at all. -

@pawdee98 Gracious goodness Leon & MsP the two of you are having a peck of troubles. We know about some of that. DH had a miserable case of the shingles just once. Now his back problems have him limping around with a cane. While I either do a staggering walk, use a prong cane or the walker. Fortunately I have very little pain.
Art Linkletter was so right when he said "Getting old is not for sissies." ( I just read his obit. Didn't know that his parents abandoned him before he was a month old.) Sure hope you find a less painful resolution to your health problems soon.I spent over an hour this morning doing a Master Profile on my Auctiva site. I hate reading instructions. Now to do a couple of listings to try out that AMP.

I think that PayPal must be down as I cannot get on there to do address labels. So I am up to this bit of devilment.
I am posting this on all of the boards.
I notice that when I add that 14 Day return policy that we get an additional box for return terms. Wondering what terms others are stating . As some of you know I sell clothing. Thinking about what kind of an attachment that I could add to a used or NWOT clothing item that could prevent the buyer from wearing the item and then returning it.I know that some glass seller will add some kind of mark. On more common depression glass I have added a piece of "Wite-Out" tape with my initials on it. Otherwise the buyer might return a damaged piece.
In past years I have known an individual or two that would return a special occasion item to Sears or Montgomery Ward after it had been worn. In one instance the mother-of-the-bride had the bridesmaids change to a different garment after the wedding but before the reception.

@leforme44 Looks like most people are maybe hiding out from the heat. Still no relief from the heat or drought here in Indiana. I read that farmers have given up and are plowing under their burned crops.
But worse than that we had two children who had been alone left in vehicles. One was the 4 month old daughter who was found dead. Her 18 year old father had left her in the car. The other was an older child whose mother had left her in a locked vehicle with all the windows closed while the mother shopped in a dress store. The child was released from the hospital yesterday. The grandparents took her. The mother is in jail.
I have been quite busy working with my book database. Wanted to get every thing listed. And I did . Then what should happen but DD made a stop at Half Price books and picked up 4 more books. Got those done, too. now to find some one to carry that heavy box to the book storage room. Maybe DH can take a few books at a time when he goes there to pull and ordered book.
Stay cool!! -

@justmim Love your picture. Yes, you are so right about bookselling becoming complicated with only a modest pay out. Back in '99 and 2000 we shipped 12-14 books every day. But not anymore.
Since I got home from rehab I have been working steadily on getting everything that I want to keep on my database.
I have put 8-10 boxes on Free Cycle. I box them and put them on the protected front porch then notify the person that there are more boxes waiting for her. I have no idea what she intends to do with them. I have maybe 200 left to either pitch or list. Hope to get those done by the end of next week. Then it will be back to working on eBay stuff. -

@doreen366ml I have an eBay store which I had to put on vacation in mid March--- serious illness---. I had about 200-300 item in it. It was doing pretty well.
Beginning in about February eBay began to let store owners do some free auctions. I did take advantage of those to sell about 10 items that I had never put in the store. I was pleased with the auction results.
Can't quite decide what to do now. Probably best to do some free auctions of items that I can get in hand. While I was ill some of my inventory got moved around. -

Hello Joolies,
Nice to see some of you here whom I haven't seen on the other boards in a day or so. And even doreen366ml who, I believe, used to post on the old eBay clothing board.
I had some health problems in March so had to clean out my eBay store. Now that I have my books back up on all the bookselling sites I am considering reactivating my store. I'll have to study some before I know how to do that most advantageously.
Leon (pawdee98) Thanks for reminding me of how the free auction links works. After eBay began to allow store owners some free auctions I had posted only 7-8 of auctions. I believe that all of them sold.
Just a few days befor my health issues turned up I had sold my mall shops "lock, stock, and barrel". So now I have no place to sell jewelery. I have quite a collection but nothing of any real value. Don't know what to do about that.
Enough for now. -

Hello joolies, Pretty bracelet Shelly.
Gas prices here in Indy are $3.49- to $3.59. With the flap in the mid-east I don't see the prices getting any lower. Just 2 weeks ago I paid $3.19 for a fill up. -

Good afternoon pottery people. Off to the post office and Walmart soon. Then home to try for some pictures for 3-4 already written listings.
@shellyrae37 my eBay sales are holding up very well. But remember I have over 400 items in my store. I think it could be said that both my listings and sales are quite 'diverse'. I don't do auctions. My DDG from North Carolina does the auction for both of us. I buy !--- She sells! She took 3 weeks off to come to visit parents and relatives here in Indy. She just left here on Jan. 4. I'm sure she will be quite busy for 3-4 weeks catching up with her work at Duke University. So she may not have any auctions up. -

Hadn't noticed that but I am often amused at "The most loved way to pay and be paid." Oh, yeah!!!

Katie--- Do you suppose one was supposed to attach them by sewing through the top of the buttons or whatever they are? I suppose you are thinking copper because of the color but a magnet won't stick to brass either.

Yes, a now retired local antique dealer once said that a lot of good costume jewelry had been ruined with those junk jewelry Christmas trees. But if I want to list his thing on eBay what would I use for title words? Maybe a few searches might yield something. I'll try that.

Good morning Joolies,
So I came across this necklace and earring set made from junk jewelry. I have owned several framed flat Christmas trees But have never seen this done with jewelry. The bracelet is 2 inches wide and made of brass.

Dropping in to say hello and Happy Holidays before I am off to the PO with my last pre- Christmas eBay order. Then to the family Christmas party where I'll get to see the three older great grands whom I have not seen since early September.
Been meaning to call mim. I think she is a member of this group.Haven't seen her here or on any of the other groups. I'll wait now until next week as I am sure that she is very busy with her large family.
So---- HAPPY HOLIDAYS !!!! -

Hello 'joolies',
Heh, I like that idea of sending the recipe. For several years I have made divinity candy but it ain't a gonna happen this year. I am quite serious about sending the recipe off to a couple of people that I have on my 'give to' list. I am pretty sure that at least one of them will give it a try. -

Goodnight friends. We had a peaceful and blessed day. We picked up our dinner, which DGD had prepared, from DD’s house. Got to see the great grandson and play with him for a bit. Perfect day! See y’all tomorrow. More food and family!

Good morning jewelry friends & acquaintances. Wishing all of you a wonderful Thanksgiving and all the rest of the holiday season.
We’ll be staying at home today. DGD is bringing our dinner to us. We’ll have a family get together / pitch in tomorrow. My assigned dish is the traditional Southern Indiana Persimmon Pudding — all done an ready to go.
Then on Saturday one of the local DGDs is taking us to St. Louis where we’ll have the three youngest of Great-grandchildren together. We have not seen the 2 month old youngest one yet. I really hope to get lots of pictures of all there of them.
In case y’all don’t know this but ’ there is just one thing better than grandchildren —-great-grandchildren’.

Good morning 'joolies' -- I spent a lot of my yesterday taking pictures--- not my favorite chore- and not my best skill. Really I don't know that I have a 'really best' skill. Anyway, I have not looked at them yet. I hope they will be at least acceptable.
As Gail @songbreeze from the Glass Board says " This is too hard".
I see that @doreen366ml has arrived. . Doreen you need to come see me. We have some incredible clothing buying opportunities here in Indy. I am overloaded with a variety of NWT & NWOT inventory.
Better get on to other chores for now. Helen in Indy -

Hello joolies, Haven't posted lately. Had really forgotten that I joined this group. I think and hope that we'll be getting more members soon. But maybe 'fewer' is better. LOL. Has anybody been posting about this group on the eBay jewelry board? The Glass Board group posted about the new group often. I think they are up to 130 members. A nice group. Come visit. Well here I am. I know that you all have been expecting me to arrive at the party. I had to get Curt to verify that i could not use beads!books!glitter! because of the exclamations points.
I see some of my friends from other boards are here to welcome me--- namely Oklahoma_Gail and Mim.
I have a 'joolry' question but I'll not barge into the room with that. BBL.
