The MsP has not had chicken pox, the doc said if she didn't touch the blisters on me she wouldn't catch them. Shingles are not contagious, but if you have not had chicken pox, you can catch them from someone who has shingles if you touch the blisters. I'm not sure about the shots, if they are to prevent chicken pox or shingles. The doc says if you have had the chicken pox you have the shingles virus. It is herpes virus and can flare up anytime, infecting the nerves. I had symptoms for a week before the rash manifested but didn't recognize them till the rash. The first itching burning, I blamed on spider bite, then I decided maybe fire ant, then maybe a snake bite. I had the MsP looking for marks and there was none. Then the stabbing pains, aching and soreness, then the rash, then to the doc and she said it was a good thing I came in soon and that we could probably get it cleared up in 30 days. But it could take longer, the blisters have dried in but the pain only subsides when I'm pilled up and wearing the pain patches.
