Mim, several years ago I had a fabricated post that I surrounded with tropical looking flowers and greenery. One morning I found a spider web in concentric circles covered with dew. It was breathtaking so I understand what you're saying. Sometimes words canno describe beauty.

I have a picture of that web..it was that special.

Char, there's no yellowish cast at all. More of a dark reddish with that brownish cast. Hard to describe. I'll try the white paper thing and in the sun, maybe that will help get a better picture of the color. I'd love to list them but hate to with no distinct description.

Shelly, I looked up garnet and found lots of different tones, hues, shades..not sure what you call it. These are dark and look almost brownish. I couldn't think of another stone like that but I'm not very knowledgeable about stones.

As for ivory and bone on ebay, it said something about needing documentation where it came from and when. How on earth would anyone finding them at estate sales have that kind of information? I'll try to get a clear picture and put it up here. The lady traveled all over the world and had trinkets, dolls and artifacts from all over. I put my ex in touch with them and he bought $350 in Kachina dolls. Just shows a small portion of the extent of that estate collection. My guess is the earrings are ivory based on the lady but I can't sell them that way.

Forgot..another question. I found two tiny elephant earrings that look like Ivory but no idea if they are or if they are plastic or bone. My question is what is legal to sell? I don’ t have any documentation like ebay says they require for ivory so would it be best to list as plastic and explain in the description?

Good morning folks. I apologize first off because this new board system has me signing in under 3 different names. One day I'll get it straight..lol. I'm usually on the pottery board but have a couple of jewelry questions

Would the stones in these earring be garnets?
http://i198.photobucket.com/albums/aa34/nancyjg/100_4426.jpg

Second question...what would you call these stones?

I really appreciate any help. Thanks in advance.
